Did Pakistan Know About Bin Laden’s Secret Compound?
A leaked email sent by the shadow intelligence organization Stratfor claimed that high-ranking Pakistani intelligence officials were aware of Osama Bin Laden’s Abbattobad safe house prior to the US raid.
The email, released by Wikileaks in a series of escalating intelligence wars, posited that as many as 12 members of the Inter-Services Intelligence agency had specific knowledge of Bin Laden’s whereabouts and did not inform US officials. There were no specific names mentioned in the email.
A Stratfor employee details in the email that, “Mid to senior level ISI and Pak Mil with one retired Pak Mil General that had knowledge of the OBL arrangements and safehouse…I get a very clear sense we (US intel) know names and ranks.”
